In 2024, the farm shop was voted ‘Best Farmshop / Deli’ in Bucks & Oxon in the Muddy Stilettos awards; before we scooped Gold at the Bucks & Milton Keynes business awards in the category of ‘Best Family Business’, and silver in ‘Business with under 50 employees’.
We are absolutely delighted to have won four awards for our produce at the 2024 Great Taste Awards; the world’s largest food and drink accreditation scheme, run annually by The Guild of Fine Food.
Panels of judges from various culinary industries meet and judge the produce, and competition is known for being fierce, with some incredible artisan delights being tasted.
2024 Great Taste award winners!
We entered our Whole Guernsey Milk, Double Cream, Sirloin Steak and Topside of Beef roasting joint, and we are ecstatic to have been awarded two gold stars for each product! To receive such high scores across all four categories is a real testament to the quality of our dairy and beef herds. Competition is fierce, with less than 10% of entrants earning 2 stars, and with no 3 stars awarded at all in 2024 in the milk category.
About our milk, one judging team said “This is a beautiful, golden milk, with a rich, clean and bright flavour. It had a wonderful coating texture in the mouth. The richness was just right, deeply flavoured, without being too intense – just perfect”.
The beef category was much bigger, with 39 entrants awarded two stars – us getting two of those! Judges’ comments on our Topside Beef included “This joint looked absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and a nice grain to the meat. The flavour was excellent – deep and rich – and the quality of the meat shone through”.
